You’re drowning…again
Finding balance in life can be tough. We’re constantly juggling a pile of things—schoolwork, personal goals, family time—and it can feel like the weight of it all is just too much. That anxious feeling creeps in when you look at your to-do list and see everything from major goals, like writing a research paper, to smaller assignments, like finishing up homework. In those moments, it’s easy to feel pulled in every direction. You want to take some time to unwind, explore new knowledge, tackle your assignments efficiently, and still have the freedom to enjoy quality moments with your family—all at once. It’s a struggle we all know too well—trying to keep everything afloat while craving that moment of peace.
## How to Find Balance
People lose their balance when they have too much on their plate and are just staring at it. Another way to put it is that it’s like taking more food than you can eat. From my experience, to regain my balance on this balance beam called life, you have to go step by step, or chew by chew.
When stepping on the beam, consider using techniques like the Eisenhower Matrix to sort tasks by priority, the Pomodoro Technique to create focused work segments of 25 minutes, or a simple calendar to organize your schedule. I personally find a combination of these methods effective. Remember to take things one step at a time, keep your goals in mind, and take breaks in between tasks. Don’t overwork yourself!
